In this module we take you through over 100 years of wrestling history, so that you’re up to speed on the business you’re entering into. To know where the artform is going, you need to know where it’s been.

Professional wrestling is one of the most psychologically fascinating forms of entertainment on the planet, so we have dedicated two separate modules to this vital part of the business. In the first of these we look at why wrestling has a universal appeal, what makes a ‘babyface’ and a ‘heel’, and we take a deep dive into the seven key elements of a basic wrestling match.

Luckily there are several other on-screen roles that are vital to the presentation of a quality wrestling show, and in this module we take a look at four of the most important. If you’ve ever considered being a commentator, referee, ring announcer or a manager then this is the module for you.

Our second module on psychology looks at how you can play around with standard wrestling tropes to mix things up and keep your audience guessing. That might involve tinkering with the traditional seven points of a match or adding various smoke and mirrors - but ultimately, the goal is the same: to help your audience suspend their disbelief and lose themselves in the world you’re creating.
